The honeymoon was spectacular as well. We wanted to do something different than what others have done. We decided to go snow skiing in Crested Butte, CO. I hadn't been snow skiing since I was in high school and had always loved it. But that had just been in Wisconsin. Because we had went in the beginning of their off season it was considerably cheaper. It took us a day and a half to get out there. We had to stay the night in Colorado Springs to wait for our flight into Gunnison. The scenery was so beautiful. Out of our motel room you could see the mountains in the horizon. We were so excited. When we got on our puddle jumper into Gunnison the landing was incredible on a very short, narrow and elevated runway. Our van ride up the mountain to Crested Butte was scattered with wildlife out of every van window. A sportsman's dream! The hotel we stayed in was nestled between to ski slopes. The room was large with windows and a balcony over looking the resort. We had a fireplace and lots of room. We went snow skiing, snowmobiling and ate a lot. We went to the outside hot tub during snow flurries (not for very long though ;) A friend of mine had been there numerous times so he was able to give us some great travel advice on the area. The snow skiing was great. I had never been on a real mountain before. But, I would have to say the best part was the snowmobiling. We went with a guide a few other couples. There happened to be a little snow storm up on the mountain we were on. It made for an adventurous and exciting ride! The views were mind blowing!! We have often talked about going back. It is one of the places I want to take the kids. When every one is old enough to enjoy it . . .
