Wedding Bells

Welcome to the family Alex Corder!

So, when Alex posted on FaceBook or Instagram "Jamaica with my beautiful wife." or something along those lines, it kind of threw me for a loop!  Oh wow, he is married too!  (Weddings are mostly about the brides, right?)

Then, the other day my mom sent a group text "How is your husband?"  I automatically thought about mine.  Then I realized "Hey, we BOTH have husbands now."  It has been great thinking about it all!

The pictures are in no particular order because I have copied them from others who have taken the pictures! I have a bunch more that I need to go through and will post more soon.  Hopefully.

It was a rainy day and it was an outdoor wedding.  But, very wisely, my sister made the decision to have the reception inside.  But, still wanted to get married outside.  We braved the drizzle and it was beautiful and so special. I actually felt it made it more intimate.

The preacher did an awesome job in reminding me that marriage isn't about ourselves but about our spouses. And most importantly about Jesus.  It was a really great reminder for me.  And an awesome beginning to marriage.

The photographer was phenomenal.  Hubby was wondering if she would hang off a tree just to be able to get the picture exactly right!

I think this First Look is kind of new.  And, of course, it takes me awhile to get with change.  But, after watching them, although I am not sure we were suppose to, I get it.  So sweet to enjoy each others company before the ceremony.  Who said the groom can't see the bride before the wedding anyway??

Birthday girl!  Nature Girl is fourteen and so, so sweet to share her day with her favorite aunt!  Sissy did a great job in making sure she wasn't over looked.  She was sang to twice.  Once in the dressing room and then once at the reception.  A great birthday cupcake.

I loved getting all dressed up.  Hubby had the option to wear a suit instead of a tux but I insisted on the tux. He hasn't worn one since our wedding! We had a great time!

Mr. and Mrs. Corder!  Such a handsome couple! Love them to pieces.

Yay!!  Love their smiles!

My hubby had the honor of walking her down the aisle and giving her away.  Two of my favorite peeps!

Had to have a family photo with us all looking so good.  Hubby gave Sissy away, I was a bridesmaid, big girls Junior Bridesmaids, EG flower girl and Boop ring bearer.  I loved that we could all be a part of her big day.

Rehearsal dinner the night before.

Crazy that it was too weeks ago. . .

How We Spent Our Weekend, Part 2

I guess the title should be how we spent the morning during our weekend.  The wedding wasn't until 7pm and the little guys didn't have to be at the wedding site until 3:30 so we had some time to kill.  Thankfully the hotel had a pool and it was a beautiful morning.

I love when the all play together!

While the girls and I were at the pool, daddy and Boop did what they love to do when we are anywhere near a military base.  Check out the flying machines.  Boop has a passion for any thing that flies.  Especially anything military.  So, the night before, daddy got info on a place where he and Boop could check out some military aircraft and that is how they spent their morning.

I do not know the names of any of the planes, tank, or guns in the pictures.  But I am sure Boop and daddy do!

This amphibious something or other is one of Boop's favorite.  He had just watched a show on the History Channel about D-Day and recognized it immediately and was super excited to see a real one.

They got back just in time to go swimming for a little bit and then get ready to go.  It was daddy birthday so we celebrated with a Sonny's for a late lunch before heading to the wedding.  Part 3 to come, pictures from the wedding . . .

Wedding Day

They wedding day was extra special for us because my nephew Billy, the groom, was a part of our wedding 15 years ago.  Who would have thought our children would be a part of his?  I am so glad they were!

Little flower girl getting her hair done up all pretty!

The groom, my oldest nephew, asked Boop to come to the house and get dressed with him and his brothers.  It was so cute.  Boop and the big guys all getting dressed up in their tuxes.  A photographer was there as well.  Can't wait to see those pictures.

Then EG was asked to go to the bride's parents house and get dressed with all 13 bridesmaids and the bride.  It was all so sweet.  This bridesmaid helped me out with EG's big beautiful bow in the back of her dress.  Unfortunately I don't remember her name.  Four of the bridesmaids were EG's PA cousins.

The little guys had some spare time at the church before the wedding began.   They did so great keeping themselves amused.

Aren't they adorable?????

Some family.  Including my grandniece.  Not sure that can be possible.  She was also a flower girl but spent most of her time in the arms of adoring family.

There were many cousins around to keep the littles occupied while waiting.

So darn handsome!!!

Pretty girls.

Cousins all dressed up.

Aunt Reenie giving Boop last minute wedding instructions.

Cousins.  Groom in the back.  Best men in the front.

My babies!

The beautiful bride and the handsome groom.

EG kneeling to pray.  She sat through the wedding and a full mass.  Aunt Reenie was totally prepared with crayons and coloring books.  She colored the whole time and did great!!

Following the big girls.

After the wedding.

Eight of the 18 cousins.

EG still coloring at the reception.  Although, after that I think she danced the rest of the night.

Probably my favorite picture.  His hands in his pocket looking so grown up.  We had such a great time that night.  Dancing and visiting and laughing with family.  I think a great time was had by all . . .

A Big Fat Irish Catholic Wedding

The last two days have been a whirlwind of flowers, tuxs, handsome men and a beautiful bride.  We were so thankful to be a part of such a great wedding celebration!

Thursday was the rehearsal and the dinner.  It was filled with a lot of family and fun.  The little guys did great in a wedding party that was huge.  Eight groomsmen and thirteen bridesmaids.  Everyone was so sweet and encouraging to them.  And they loved hanging with the big kids.

We went back to my sister-in-laws for the rehearsal dinner.  And it was packed with family and friends and lots of food!  The kids had a great time hanging out with cousins.  Everyone looked so beautiful and handsome.

Yesterday was a whirlwind of dressing and smiling and getting last minute directions as to where to go and what to do.  Hubby and I left with Boop and EG before everyone else.  Boop got to get dressed with the groom and the two bestmen, the groom's brothers, Boop's cousins.  It was big fun.  The photographer  was there and took some great pictures.  I can't wait to see them.  My little man was so, so handsome in his tux and vest.  His cousins were so great with him giving him fist bumps and making him feel so apart of the festivities!

Then it was off to the bride's parent's house to get the little flower girl dressed, along with the 13 girls and the bride.  Again, they were all so sweet to EG telling her she was the prettiest flower girl.  She definitely felt special.  What a wonderful group of young people!  Again, the photographer was there taking pictures.

Once everyone was ready for the wedding we took all the little guys to the church.  Where we waited for the rest of the wedding party to arrive.  I opted to take the littles with us instead of having them ride on the wedding party trolley.  :)

The guests arrived and the wedding began.  It was beautiful and the setting was gorgeous.  It was in a very old Catholic church.  It was a full Mass so with that and the wedding it was close to an hour and a half.  My little guys did great!  Thanks to Aunt Reenie.  She brought gummies and coloring books.  EG bent over in the pew and colored the entire time.  Boop sat there pretty quiet but would turn around occasionally to ask how much longer.  The man sitting next to him was awesome with him.  Checking on him and helping him.

The bride and groom were so handsome.  But, I was kind of partial to the flower girl and ring bearer!  They did so, so well and looked so darn adorable.  I was one proud mama.  Two little kids, in the midst of a ton of activities, surrounded by a bunch of people they barely knew and having hardly any good sleep.  They rocked!!!

The reception was a blast!  Surrounded by 350 of our closet friends - ha, ha!!  All of hubby's family was there so a few familiar faces.  Majority of our Florida cousins were there so that was great to see.  We all danced, ate and enjoyed each others company.

We hung out until after 11 o'clock with all the kids hanging tough.  I know there are a ton of little things that I need to remember and blog about.  But, we are leaving in a little to hang with the family and celebrate Boop's 7th birthday.  Maybe a blog in a day or two with just random memories . .  .
