Tent Camping, Day Two

Many of the following pictures were taken by my camping buddies.  Unfortunately many of them are out of order.  But, as you can see from the first picture below, our second day consisted of a 4 mile hike to the top of a mountain.  We are certain that the total of the hike was closer to 5!  Anyway, we started out a little before lunch and made it to the top of the mountain to have a picnic lunch.  The hike was challenging but so totally worth it.  The big kids did fabulous.  And the little guys did pretty good as well!

EG managing the rocky trail

Me and Ms. H.  It was a tad chilly starting out.  This was a little deck set out over one of the hills.  You could look down into a valley.

Picture of the beautiful colors taken by a friend.  Just think hiking in these colors.  It was spectacular.

Picnic at the top of the mountain which we never thought we would get to.

Many of our creek crossings.

Rest stop on top of a huge rock.  Below the rock was almost straight down.

The mamas.

More beautiful trees.

The littles.

The big girls.

EG going it alone.

Nature Girl enjoying a few minutes of rest and peace and quiet on top the mountain.

The view of the lake at our campground from on top of the mountain where we ate lunch.

More water crossings.

The kids.

Although it is hard to tell from here, the view from that big rock was straight down.

Two of the men trying to figure out a way to rock climb.

All of us accounted for after the hike.  And, most everyone still has a smile!

I was trying to figure out what we did for the rest of the day.  But, I am sure it was relaxing and recouping from our big hike.  I am sure we didn't get back until late afternoon.  The kids played and the parents visited.  Another successful camping day . . .
