A Camping We Will Go

So, we got the camper out of the backyard in like 15 minutes!! That is a record. I was so impressed by hubby. He jogged the truck and the camper around, and out the gate we went. Both of us looked at each other, just waiting for something to go wrong. But, it didn't!!

We leave Friday to go camping at a state park where we are going to take a trolley ride on Saturday night to see thousands of Christmas lights. The place we are going to is pretty well known in these parts. Every person I have talked to about going has either been there or knows someone who has been.

Hubby has to work all day and a detail Thursday night, so it is up to me to get the camper ready. We want to leave at a reasonable time on Friday. The camp ground is only 4 hours away but we don't know where we are going and, of course, it takes us longer to get anywhere!

The camper is parked on the side of the house and in the morning I will plug it in and get the fridge and freezer going and start packing up. Hubby wished we were a little more organized. But, I honestly don't think we are doing too bad. We just have to get a few last minute things from the store, put our clothes in and gather up the essentials. Which I have conveniently kept organized and stored. Just waiting to be used for camping.

Everyone I have talked to says it will be so cold. So, we are planning on layering and bringing lots of wood. I want to spend time outside. But, it is nice to know that the camper will be warm! Kind of like camping this summer. We knew it would be hot. But, it was nice to know the camper would be cool, if we decided to go in.

We are going with friends, so that will be a lot of fun. Two other families, and one of the families parents will be there as well, but at a hotel.

I am getting excited. And know I will be more so, once we start loading the camper. I know it is silly that we have a camper that the truck can barely pull and we have to take two cars wherever we go. But, I just love the fact that we are doing this as a family and we all seem to enjoy it. We have had the camper less than a year and this will be our fourth time using it. We will be experts before we know it!

I just made reservations to spend Little Mama's birthday (well, a weekend in February) at the state park at the caverns. To ensure we use the camper, our plan, this year, is to do each kids' birthday at different camp ground. That is the plan. As of today.

So, back to gathering and packing. A camping we will go . . .
