One of Those Weeks

Have you ever had one of those weeks that really tests your confidence as a parent? It makes you question, if what you are doing is right, effective? It can be very discouraging because there really are no guarantees. I can watch and emulate what others do. I can read all kinds of books. But ultimately, I learn as I go. And I definitely can pray. As I think more about it, these three scripture verses have came to my mind:

Deuteronomy 6: 5-9 "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."

Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it."

Hebrews 12:10-11 "For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it"

That's what I am resting on today . . .

Yup, absolutely. The more kids I had, the more I questioned my confidence as a parent.
Thanks for the words of wisdom today, and hope your confidence level soars soon, back to where it belongs.
